Advent Concert Information

Our annual Advent concert is quickly approaching and we wanted to make you aware of important information for the evening. The concert will be held on Thursday, December 19 at 6pm at Notre Dame School (50 Lees Street). The doors to the school will open at 5:30pm and students will be directed to wait in classrooms according to their grade. There will be Grade 5 students to help direct you to where these classrooms are. We kindly ask that all students be dropped off in the classrooms between 5:30pm - 5:50pm so our concert can begin promptly at 6:00pm.

There are no specific costumes needed for the concert but students are asked to dress in their “Sunday or Christmas best” with shoes that they can dance in. We are anticipating a running time of approximately just under 90 minutes. During the concert, the students will remain in the classrooms with their teachers until it is their time to perform. After their class performance, they will return to their assigned classroom. The teachers will have activities for the students to do while they are in the classroom.

Once the concert is finished, parents can pick up students in the same classroom they were dropped off in. In the interest of safety, no students will be released to parents during the concert. We ask that you remain in your seats until the concert has finished and all students have exited the gym before you move to collect your child. As in past practice, children will be signed in and out from the classroom space so we can account for each of our students. We understand that this process might take a few minutes but your child’s safety is paramount, so we ask for your patience and understanding.

Before and after the concert there will once again be a silver donation which will help the less fortunate this Christmas season.

Our school community has certainly been working very hard over the past few weeks and we are so excited to share this special event with you. We will have seating for over 1,000 people so we encourage you to bring your family to watch. The Advent season and the anticipation of the birth of Jesus is a most exciting time in our Catholic faith as we look forward to sharing this evening with you.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us at the school if you have any questions regarding the concert. We look forward to seeing you there!
